BIG NEWS: we have moved to another country

In September my husband got offered an opportunity to work outside of South Africa. It took a few weeks for the offer to come through and I didn’t think much of it, because it wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. Eating our hearts out in KZN

When we go visit our parents in KwaZulu Natal, in the small town called Empangeni, we know to brace ourselves for some serious feasting.

On average we go to visit our parents about twice a year. It is quite far to drive – ± 7 hours’ drive. You can fly from Johannesburg or Lanseria to King Shaka International in Durban, but it is about 3 hours’ drive from Empangeni to the airport and back. So, it is not worth it to go for just a weekend or a long weekend. Although we don’t visit often (sigh), we always make the most of it when we are there. CONTINUE READING
